Canoeing Day Trip
Information
What to Expect:
In order to have the correct amount of equipment and food prepared for each of our trips, paid reservations are required.
Please read the 'bring list' to sure that you bring appropreate clothes and personal items.
Be prompt at the assembly point; you may cut our trip short by being late or miss the trip entirely.
Canoeing Day Trips meet at our Base Camp at 9:00 AM on the day of the trip, except those traveling by train. (See below)
Participants will be required to drive the three miles to the trip "put-in".
ALL paddlers WILL wear PFD's, life jackets, at all times while in canoes or near the river.
These trips are designed for a maximum of twelve people plus the leaders.
Minimum number of participants required to run this type of trip is four persons, not including the trip leaders.

We Supply:
Canoes, paddles, PFD's (life jackets), soft drinks, lunch, basic canoeing instruction and river guides.
Persons with medical issues, food allergies, special dietary requirements or who are vegetarians must let us know the particulars well prior to the trip.

Canoeing Day Trip Reservation Procedure:
Your reservation check in the amount of $40.00 per person must be in our hands well prior to the trip for which you are making a reservation. All Canoeing Day Trips are finalized and fees must be received by the end of the business day, five days, the Monday, prior to the date of the trip. Trip dates must be verified with Champaign Canoeing before checks are put in the mail. Make all checks payable to: Keech LeClair and mail to: Champaign Canoeing Ltd, Ann & Keech LeClair, 30 Beach Road, Ossining, NY 10562-3201. Please enclose a note indicating the names, addresses, phone numbers and most important, an E-Mail address for each person that you are including in your reservation. Please be aware that we cannot answer email messages or phone calls for periods of days while away on canoe trips.

Canoeing Day Trip Prerequisits:
No previous paddling experience necessary.
Minimum age for our day trips is ten years old.

How to Get to the Canoeing Day Trip:
You can drive to our base camp in Ossining, (Click here for driving directions), or we can, by prior special arrangement, meet the 8:47 AM train out of Grand Central which arrives at Croton-Harmon railroad station at 9:29 AM. Return trains are available leaving Croton-Harmon about every half hour all afternoon and evening.

Canoeing Day Trip Rain Date Policy:
Use of the "Rain Date" will be decided by 9:00 am on the Friday before the trip. Trip members will receive an email notice and the decision will be posted on the "schedule" page on this web site.

Canoeing Day Trip Cancellation Policy:
Total fees are due by the cancellation date, five days prior to the day of the trip, (I.E. Monday for a Saturday trip). Cancellations after that date will result in loss of fees. Substitutes may be acceptable.
