Allagash Waterway, Maine

What to Expect:
Please read the 'bring list' and pack accordingly. Please be prompt at the assembly point or you may be responcible for the trip paddling and camping late, possibly after dark, the first day!
Secure parking has been arranged for extra cars in the Bangor area.
The shuttle to the put in is about three hours from Bangor ME, and we should arrive in time for lunch.
Please offer to share transportation costs if you are a passenger in someone else's car.
ALL paddlers WILL wear PFD's, life jackets, at all times while in canoes, no exceptions!
Everyone helps with camp duties. Evening campfires crackle, and the food is the best.
The shuttle from the take out is about four hours back to Bangor, arriving at about 6 PM, Saturday evening.

We Supply:
Canoes, paddles, and PFD's (life jackets).
Tents and dry bags may be supplied by prior special arrangements.
All common camping gear, crystal lite & fruit tea for drinks, food, and river guides are provided. Persons with medical issues, food allergies or special dietary requirements must let us know the particulars prior to the trip cancelation date.

Trip Prerequisites:
The Allasgash Waterway Wilderness Trip has a prerequisite of a Champaign Canoeing Beginner Instruction Weekeend or equivalent.

Reservation Procedure:
All Wilderness trip candidates must have their $100 returnable application fee submitted at least 45 days prior to the trip. The trip will be finalized four weeks prior to the trip and candidates will be notified by email when they are accepted on the trip. The balance of the $600 total fee is due thirty days prior to the trip. Make checks payable to: Keech LeClair , and mail to: Champaign Canoeing Ltd., Keech & Ann LeClair, 30 Beach Road, Ossining, NY 10562-3201. Paddlers who repeat the Wilderness trip will receive a $50 discount on the fee. Please enclose a note indicating the names, addresses, phone numbers and most important e-mail addresses of the persons that are included in your reservation.
You can access the bring list and other pretinent information about your Allagash Waterway Wilderness Trip on this web site. We will confirm receipt of your checks for your reservations and balances via e-mail. Please be aware that we cannot answer email messages or phone calls for periods of days while away on canoe trips, see trip schedule.

Wilderness Trip Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation Policy states that the total fees are due by the cancellation date, three weeks prior to the first day of the trip. Cancellations after that date will result in the loss of deposit. Cancellation after ten days prior to the first day of the trip will result in no refund at all. With the agreement of Champaign Canoeing, an eligible substitute may be acceptable.
